Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh was the district player and active volunteer and expert in lining work.
It was to his ill-fated that his team did not continued due to heavy beatings and scolding from their coach. Even then they manage to continue as a team.
Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh was then a linesman and he continued till 2003 when eventually his students made him to stop the lining work and took over the job from him as then he was holding a office bearer post and was also the main coach of leading team. In all the years i.e. the first Mayor which was an All India level tournament till date Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh participated to accomplish the tournaments. The lining job was flourished as he was in core committee of Late.

Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh played kho kho for all the five years from Maharshi Dayanand College, Parel. There for first two years Virsen Parab coached the team and last three years he was taught by Shri.Deepak Rane. From M.D. College kho kho Team, Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh played all three senior seniors wherein his team won the title twice and came 4th in his 14th std. Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh was selected in last 15 twice but due to fracture injury to his finger in 13th and NCC Camp in 15th he lost his chance to play any inter University Level.
In this year’s Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh became one of the major referees who was always their till finals. He had a good rapo with Late.Padmakar Kambli and Shri.Sainath Desai. During some of the matches contesting teams would literally clash with each other but as an impartial referee Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh was never pin pointed to take side of any team. Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh stood first in district as well as State Referee Exams. As he was continuously umpiring in District and state level he easily coup up at National Level from 1996 Dhule national. Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh continued as referee till 2007 thereafter discontinued as taken key post of Mumbai Secretary.
Right from the year 1996 till 2017 alongwith his collegue Surendra Vishwakarma and Balasaheb Toraskar, Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh took referee exams and classes at B.P.C.A. Wadala College and other places. Exam Papers were prepared and checked single handed by Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh.
In the year 1990 Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh became the Committee member of the Sanghatana. It was crucial years for him as his team was new. At that time the volunteers were given seldom respect and were even taunted and back slashed. Even against all odds Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh continued his thankless job as a true volunteer. During this period the Sanghatana were having stalwarts such as Shri.Shankarrao(Buwa) Salvi as the President in very first years. Then Eknath Satam, Manohar Salvi, Yashwant Naik, Udaydada Lad, Tushar Surve followed. All had delivered and tuned up to today’s Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh who had flourished in all angles.
Under the guidance of Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh two State Championships were held by shree Samartha Vyayam Mandir. The first was in 1996 of Junior Age group. Wherein the leading volunteers were Shri.Nandkumar Wadadekar, Bhalchandra Chandorkar.
During 1996 there was a well fought election for the presidential post. Late Eknath Satam stood for consecutive year and was opposed by Shri.Shivram Sonawadekar who was a coach and press reporter. In this fight Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh took the side of Shri.Shivram Sonawadekar and Shri.Sainath Desai. In the election Eknath Satam won by a single vote i.e. 25 v/s 24.
Thereafter Shri.Sainath Desai nominated Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh for the post of joint secretary and became a member. The years between 1997 to 1999 were critical as many clashes came to forth. In some matches the players even pushed the President leading to majority of Office Bearers going on a non-co-operation mode. In this years Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh as the joint secretary took the front seat and took all the district championship with help of senior kho kho group leaders. Under the guidance of Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh in the year 2003 Sub Juniors State Championship were organised by shree Samartha Vyayam Mandir. In this event alongwith Shri.Nandkumar Wadadekar, Balasaheb Toraskar and Nilesh Parab were the prominent persons helping in the conduction of the event.
In the year 2003 Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh became the Treasurer and Shri.Udaydada Lad becoame President of Sanghatana till 2006. During this tenure the cash box slowly started to fill. But even this three years saw tussles between two stalwarts Manohar Salvi and Tushar Surve. Tushar being the secretary had to face no confidence motion which was never kept on floor for test. In the year 2006 Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh became the unanimous choice as General Secretary. Therein as a shrewd and straight forward nature and as the Governing Council member he drew straight tussles with the state body i.e. Maharashtra Kho Kho Association. This lead to State body taking decision to take unruly action against his institution as his team refused to play in finals. Alongwith him the state body wanted to take action against Manohar Salvi, Sainath Desai and Yashwant Naik. For Arunsir this could have resulted in devastating results for his students line-up in Shiv chatrapati awards. Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh at that moment gave resignation of his post of General secretary without a single thought saying in Game players are the persons who should be given the first place. At that incidence the full committee alongwith all office bearers gave their resignation to the President Shri.Udaydada Lad. An adhoc committee was formed.
The action taken by the state body was for three years which it took back within 11 months and in the elections held in 2007 Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh became the General Secretary wherein full committee was unanimously elected.
The year 2007 to 2010 saw continuous flow of results wherein President were Shri.Udaydada Lad. Again in the year 2010 to 2013 Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh became the General Secretary wherein full committee was unanimously elected. The President was Shri.Udaydada Lad. In the year of 2010 with Viyom Foundation took the lead to organise the first Senior Nationals to be held in Mumbai which was held at Shree Samartha Vyayam Mandir. Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh being the Joint secretary of Viyom Foundation was the Organizing Secretary of the major successful event.During this three years annual report were published, A.G.M. taken in time, Accounts were audited and filed at Charity Commissioner office and importantly all district Championship were taken.
In the year 2011 when 4 voting members were to be send from the district body. Tushar Surve and Sangita Patil were already selected. For other two vote three were in frame. When busy with his clients and when entered in the fray Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh faced defeat on face wherein the chairman allowed to take the matter of sending members without prior notice. Then from the present members due to management the winners were Sainath Desai & Anant Bhatade. Anant Bhatade became the Governing Council member for a single year. In this 2011-2012 juncture all the Governing Council Meetings to the much dismay of Anant Bhatade, Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh was invited almost permanently and he took advantage and actually participated in the discussions.
In the Election in 2012 Alongwith other decision making members Adv.Arun Deshmukh saw that many stalwart people exit from the district body. Thereafter from 2012 onwards till 2017 as on-going year Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh is the Governing Council Member
Again in the year 2013 to 2016 Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh became the General Secretary wherein full committee was unanimously elected. The President was M.L.A. Adv.Anil Parab. Shri.Shivkumar Lad became the Vice President. During this three years annual report were published, A.G.M. taken in time, Accounts were audited and filed at Charity Commissioner office and importantly all district Championship were taken. In the year 2015-16 the sponsoring of district team began. Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh sponsored the Junior boys/girls teams with full kit and lodging expenses at Jalgaon. Other groups were sponsored by Shri.Shivkumar Lad and Shri.Girish Balekundri.
Again for the year 2016 to 2020 Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh became the General Secretary wherein full committee was unanimously elected. Shri.Shivkumar Lad became the President. In the year 2016-17 saw full sponsoring of district teams. Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh sponsored the Senior boys/girls teams with full kit with bag, boots and everything, to and fro sleeper A/c coach travel, and lodging expenses for the state tournament held at Sangli. Other groups were sponsored by Shri.Shivkumar Lad and Shri.Girish Balekundri. In this year all the change reports were also filed upto date. Pan card was received. National Referee Exam was held in 2016.
The next vision for the Sanghatana as plan is the Web site. So also getting 80 G certificate is in the pipe line. The most important job is to bring once again the laurel of victory to the district team.
After becoming the Notary, Govt. of India, Adv. Arun G. Deshmukh started to run his activities from his office. Today as the Secretary of MUMBAI KHO KHO SANGHATANA the day to day affairs are all conducted through the office at “ Shop No.1. Vinayak Darshan Apartment, Ganesh Peth lane, Dadar(W), Mumbai – 400 028. The shop which is open from 9:30 in morning till 11:00 pm in night gives a handsome access to all the players and volunteers of the game. Inward and Outward register is maintain and letters are drafted and easily forwarded as per need.
